Welcome To The Auction!

Deerfield Ranch Winery is home to the Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom, an endangered plant that resides in the Kenwood Wetlands located on the winery property. The Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom Society, a non-profit organization, was founded to protect the endangered Checkerbloom and restore, maintain and raise awareness of the Kenwood Wetlands.

Every year, the Deerfield Ranch Winery hosts a fundraising event to help fund the Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom Society's restoration efforts. This year, we are hosting an on-line auction for our supporters who are unable to attend the Masquerade Ball on July 18th. If an auction item does not receive the minimum starting bid, it will be auctioned at the Masquerade Ball.

Deerfield bottles a special Checkerbloom label Rosé every year. Profits from the sale of this wine are donated to the Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom Society to help fund the restoration efforts.

The Endangered Kenwood Marsh Checkerboom

The Kenwood Marsh is one of only two places on earth – Kenwood and Knights Valley, both in Sonoma County - where the endangered Kenwood Marsh Checkerbloom plant exists. In order to proctect this rare wildlife habitat, Deerfield Ranch Winery granted a permanent 14 acre conservation easement to the county of Sonoma.

Working closely with US Fish and Wildlife Service, Deerfield Ranch Winery and the USDA’s National Resources Conservation Services (NRCS) teamed up to develop a program to protect and expand the population of the endangered Checkerbloom.
